Hybrid work environment (subject to change); 2-3 days in office; other days remote

Immigrant Justice Corps (IJC) is the country’s first and only fellowship program dedicated to meeting the unprecedented need for high-quality legal assistance for immigrants seeking citizenship, other lawful status, and fighting deportation. 

IJC mobilizes the country’s most talented law school and college graduates to provide high quality representation to low-income immigrants. 

IJC’s two-year fellowship program connects Fellows to the best legal services providers and community-based institutions nationwide. The program fosters a culture of creative thinking that engenders new strategies to reduce the justice gap for immigrant families, ensuring that immigration status is no longer a barrier to social and economic opportunity. Since its founding in 2014, IJC has trained 300+ fellows who have effectively helped over 100,000 immigrants and family members with a 92% success rate on completed cases. 

THE OPPORTUNITY 

At a time of strategic growth, IJC seeks a Director of Data and Impact Analytics to oversee and direct IJC’s work quantifying organizational goals and measuring impact towards mission. This will include developing reports and analytics for both internal and external purposes and assisting in strategic decision making for program development. The Director will also manage staff overseeing the organization’s case management system(s) assuring the quality, production, and efficiency of data and system processes. This role will provide high-level oversight for the production, implementation, and maintenance of data systems and technology management across the entire organization.   The Director will be part of the Senior Leadership Team reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and serve in a key role for the organization across functions. 

 

Responsibilities will include the following:  

Management/Leadership  
Lead and provide direction, mentorship, guidance, and professional development for the data team staff.  Partner with outsourced technology partners. Create team integration and mutual learning opportunities consistent with IJC’s values, vision, and strategic goals.     

  • Guide and project manage all Data & Impact Analytics initiatives to ensure the successful execution of key projects that align with the organization’s strategic goals.   
  • Effectively communicate IJC’s data goals, planning process, project initiatives, team innovation, and results to leadership, stakeholders and other various audiences.   
  • Manage data staff and oversee project portfolios to help measure program outcomes including assistance with analyzing metrics on recruitment, Fellow and Host engagement, training, finance, human resources and other IJC functions.  

 

Data Management/Monitoring and Evaluation  

  • Lead on IJC’s monitoring and evaluation efforts including developing a culture of reflection and analysis, optimization of data tools for learning and improvement and introduce practices to test assumptions and innovations. 
  • Build efficient processes for accelerating innovation by creating, synthesizing and evaluating key performance indicators (KPIs) from IJC’s Strategic Plan and programmatic objectives in a regular and user-friendly way (dashboards, interactive data visualizations, etc.). 
  • Assess, provide recommendations, and implement business intelligence measures to improve or streamline organizational workflow.  Foster a strategic culture of technological proficiency, aligning it with the organization’s strategic priorities, through training, technical assistance or individual consultation. 
  • Keep apprised of partner research, development in migration and legal services metrics and evaluate opportunities to participate in studies driving towards universal representation. 
  • Ensure that technology infrastructure aligns with the organization’s long-term strategic vision and objectives, plan for optimal usage and produce data innovations.  
  • Oversee outsourced technology partnership and manage any software design and/or upgrade and development including database transitions such as implementation of IJC’s proposed CRM, Netsuite.  
  • Assess strategic policies and practices for data integrity and security and work to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. 

Skills and Experience  

  • Master’s Degree in related field, certificate in data analytics desirable. 
  • At least 3-5 years’ experience leading and managing teams. 5+ years’ experience analyzing complex data sets and/or monitoring and evaluation.  
  • DAMA Certifications, PMP certification, NIST/Cybersecurity certification 
  • Experience in CRM implementation, maintenance, and management  
  • Experience in non-profit or academic data management, with experience in legal services or Fellowship programming, a plus 
  • Must be experienced in designing and preparing executive level-facing reports and presentations. 
  • Working knowledge of data analytics software, including Excel, Access, and data analysis software such as R or similar– ability to define and perform complex data analytics.   
  • Experience with VPS hosted databases (GoDaddy, MS Azure, AWS)  
  • Advanced knowledge of the following languages: MySQL/SQL, R, Python  
  • Advanced knowledge of NetSuite Social Impact (non-profit) Solution edition, preferred 
  • Experience in immigration, human rights, legal services, human services preferred
